Peugeot 508 intake air temperature sensor fault

I'm having trouble with my 2020 Peugeot 508 diesel. It's got about 250650 km on the clock. The check engine light keeps coming on, and the engine feels like it's lost some power. I ran a diagnostic tool, and it's showing a fault related to the intake air temperature sensor. Also the engine is running rough. Could a faulty IAT sensor really cause all these issues?

Hey, I had a similar problem with my 508. Check engine light, loss of power... sounds familiar. Was the error code specifically pointing to the IAT sensor? Where did you check the error memory?

Yes, the error code definitely points to the intake air temperature sensor. I used a pretty standard diagnostic tool to read the error memory. Did replacing the IAT sensor solve all the issues with your 508?

Yeah, replacing it sorted things out for me. But honestly, I'd recommend getting it checked out by a workshop. Might be something else causing the sensor to fail. I wasted a lot of time before going to a mechanic.

Thanks for the info. I'll probably just take it to a workshop then. The IAT sensor was indeed broken and the repair cost about 155€. Hopefully, that will solve the problem once and for all.
