Hey, Wow, that sounds like a pretty freaky problem, and you were lucky to get it fixed! Can you tell me how much it cost you to get this engine control unit fixed? And has there been any other trouble with your Peugeot since then that might be related to this problem? Thanks for the info! Regards.

Moin, yes, it was certainly a search for clues, but it turned out well! The repair of the engine control unit cost me €1000. Since then my Peugeot has been purring like a kitten with no further problems. And I think your guess about the charge air temperature sensor was spot on: there was also a malfunction that was dealt with when I took the car to the mechanic. On the whole, the car has been running really well since then, no more smoke signals and the hissing and the miserable whistling are also history. So, I would recommend that you check these pitfalls with your mechanic. And don't worry, it may have been expensive, but it was definitely worth it! Best regards.

Hey, thanks for the detailed answer! That's quite a lot of money, but if there are no further problems afterwards and the car runs smoothly again, it seems worth it. I'll take your advice to heart and talk to my mechanic about it. Let's see what comes of it. Your experience is very valuable to me! Thanks again and have a nice day! Regards.

Hello, I had the same problem with my Peugeot 3008, year of manufacture 2018. Attention, it seems to be a bit more complicated. In my case, the evaluation electronics, i.e. the engine control unit, was defective. Now the car is running smoothly again: no black smoke, no hissing noise and no more whistling. Power is also back and fuel consumption is back to normal. It's not a simple replacement. The workshop had to take a closer look to discover the faulty control unit. It was serious, but don't panic, it was repairable. The good news: after that, all the symptoms were gone. It's certainly worth a look to see if you might have the same problem. Good luck! Best regards.
