Eighteen months?! Yeah, that's pushing it. Additives might help a little, but honestly, with those symptoms, I wouldn't risk further engine damage. A proper oil change and new filter is the way to go. Get it checked by a workshop ASAP.

Thanks for the advice! Turned out the maintenance interval was indeed the issue. An oil change and filter replacement sorted it, costing 165€. Lesson learned: stick to the schedule!
