Peugeot 508 Oil Pump Failure

Hi, I have a 2010 Peugeot 508 gasoline. The oil pressure warning lamp lights up and there are loud mechanical noises. Mileage is 29819 km. Suspect a defect in the oil pump. Any ideas?

Hey, I have a Peugeot 508 as well. I had similar symptoms. Have you checked for any oil leakage? Also, consider checking the oil pressure sensor. What about the oil viscosity?

No oil leakage visible, and the oil pressure sensor seems fine. I haven't checked the oil viscosity. Where is the oil pressure gauge located?

The oil pressure gauge location can vary, but honestly, with those symptoms, it really does sound like low oil pressure. With that kind of mechanical noise, I'd suggest going to a workshop asap. It is probably your oil pump.

Thanks for the advice. I went to the workshop and as you said it was indeed the oil pump. Repair cost was 755€ Appreciate it!
