Peugeot 508 seat heater problem

Hey, I'm having a real headache with my 2010 Peugeot 508 (gasoline engine). My seat heater isn't working! It doesn't get warm at all, and there's an error code showing up. I've checked the fuses, and they seem fine. Any ideas what could be causing this? It's only got 16111 km on the clock!

Hey there! I also drive a 508. I had a similar issue with my seat heater a while back. The symptoms sound almost identical. Did you try checking the connection under the seat? Sometimes they can come loose, but honestly, it sounds like the heating element itself might be the culprit.

Thanks for the quick reply! You mentioned the heating element... Is that something I can easily check myself, or is it buried deep inside the seat? Also, how did you eventually fix your issue? Was it definitely the heating element?

No problem! Honestly, accessing the heating element isn't straightforward. It's integrated into the seat cushion. In my case, the workshop confirmed it was a defective heating mat. I wouldn't recommend tackling it yourself unless you're very comfortable with car electrics and upholstery. If you have the same error code stored, I'd strongly suggest getting it diagnosed properly at a garage. I ended up paying around 390€ for the repair.

Okay, thanks a lot for the advice! Sounds like I'll be taking it to a workshop then. I really appreciate you sharing your experience; it's good to know what I'm potentially in for. I'll post what the shop finds!
