Peugeot 607 Air Suspension Problem
Summary of the thread
A 2001 Peugeot 607 diesel was experiencing issues with a warning light, misaligned low beams, and uneven suspension, resulting in a poor ride quality. The problem was suspected to be within the height control system, specifically a defective control rod on the load sensor. After taking the car to a mechanic, the diagnosis was confirmed, and the control rod was replaced, resolving the suspension issue and restoring smooth ride quality.

I haven't inspected the load sensors and control rods yet. Where are these located, and can I check myself without special tools? Is it common for only one side to fail, causing the uneven height?

The load sensors are typically mounted near the suspension components. Diagnosing the control rod without proper tools may be difficult. The uneven height suggests one side is failing, which is plausible. I'd recommend a workshop to confirm the diagnosis and pinpoint the exact cause.

Took the car to my mechanic, and you were right! It was a defective control rod on the sensor. Total repair cost, including the new rod and labor, was about 110€. My Peugeot is riding smoothly again. Thanks for the help!

The symptoms suggest a problem within the height control system. Have you inspected the load sensors and their control rods? A defective control rod is a common cause, given the age and 290680 km mileage. Is the error code related to the suspension system?
