Peugeot 607 ECU Defect

I own a 2010 Peugeot 607 with a gasoline engine. The engine control unit seems to be defective. I'm experiencing reduced engine power, and an error is stored in the error memory. Could a defective main relay be the cause?

I had a similar issue with my 607, although I can't recall the exact year. Reduced engine power and error codes pointing to the ECU. Did you check the relay itself? Sometimes it's just corrosion or a bad connection, but I can't say for sure that it is the problem.

Thank you for your response. Could you elaborate on how you diagnosed the issue with your 607? Did the symptoms exactly match, and did you also suspect the main relay?

Well, the symptoms were pretty much identical. I fiddled around with the relay, cleaning the contacts and all, but it didn't really solve the problem. Eventually, I took it to a workshop. They confirmed it was the ECU, but I still can't be 100% sure that the relay was the cause.

I appreciate the insight. Based on your experience, I'll take it to a workshop for a professional diagnosis. The eventual repair cost of the defective engine control unit was about 120€. Thank you for your time.
