Peugeot 607 Oil Contamination
Summary of the thread
A 2001 Peugeot 607 diesel exhibited a constant oil pressure warning light and a speedometer warning, leading to concerns about oil contamination. The issue was suspected to be caused by exceeding the maintenance interval, resulting in oil sludge buildup. The solution involved taking the car to a workshop for an oil change and filter replacement, resolving the problem.

Oil change was maybe a bit overdue, I admit. But sludge already? Seriously? How bad was yours?

Yeah, mine was pretty bad. The oil was like tar. Just get it checked at a workshop; they'll know what to do.

Thanks. You were spot on. Took it to the workshop, and it was indeed oil contamination from me missing the maintenance interval. Cost me 165€ for the oil change and filter replacement. Lesson learned!

I had something similar on my 607. Check your oil filter and engine oil. Could be oil sludge buildup. When was the last time you did an oil change?
