Peugeot 607 Power Window Failure

Good day, forum members. I have a query regarding my 2004 Peugeot 607 with a gasoline engine. The power windows have stopped working entirely. A diagnostic shows an error. Could this be the power window switch? I've checked the fuses, and they're fine. I'm at a loss.

Summary of the thread

A 2004 Peugeot 607 experienced a complete power window failure, with a diagnostic error indicating a potential issue. The problem could be due to a faulty power window switch, wiring harness issues, or a failed window regulator. After checking the fuses and considering the complexity of the repair, it was advised to consult a professional. Ultimately, the issue was resolved by replacing the window regulator.

Did this summary help you solve your problem?

Ah, the dreaded Peugeot window gremlins! I've experienced something similar in my 607. Do you hear any clicking sounds when you try to operate the window, or is it completely silent? Have you tried checking the wiring harness where it enters the door? Those wires can sometimes get brittle and break, causing intermittent or complete failure.

Thank you for your prompt response! No, there are no clicking sounds whatsoever; it is completely silent. Regarding the wiring harness, is this located behind the door panel? I'm not particularly experienced with dismantling interior components. Should I attempt this myself, or is it best left to a professional?

Yes, the wiring harness is behind the door panel. Given the complete silence and the error code, while it could be a wiring issue, it does sound more like the window regulator or switch itself has failed. Honestly, unless you're comfortable with automotive electrics, I'd suggest taking it to a reputable workshop. You could end up causing more damage trying to DIY it. Better safe than sorry, eh?

I appreciate your insights immensely. I suspected as much regarding the complexity of the repair. I shall locate a trustworthy workshop and seek their expert assistance. It seems a new window regulator was indeed the culprit, setting me back approximately 200€. Problem solved!
