Peugeot 607 reduced engine power
Summary of the thread
A 2004 Peugeot 607 diesel experienced reduced engine power, with an error code indicating an engine issue. The problem was linked to previous chip tuning, which altered engine parameters and caused the car to enter limp mode. The solution involved reverting the car's settings to factory defaults at a workshop, which resolved the error and restored engine power.

Interesting. I did have some chip tuning done a while ago. Could that really be the cause, even after all this time? How can I confirm, or should I just take it to a workshop?

It's possible the chip tuning is the problem, even if done some time ago. Effects can be delayed. A diagnostic might pinpoint it, but reverting to factory settings is best. I suggest a trusted workshop to diagnose and fix issues from the tuning.

Thanks for the advice. Took it to a workshop, and you were spot on. Faulty chip tuning. They reverted it to original settings. Error is gone, and power is back. Cost 180€.

I also have a 607 diesel and had something similar. Any recent work on the car, maybe involving the computer? My reduced power and error were from faulty chip tuning. It messed with the engine's parameters, causing limp mode. Have you considered that?
