Peugeot 607 Undervoltage Issue

My 2003 Peugeot 607 diesel is showing undervoltage signs at 197161 km. It's hard to start, electrical systems fail, and lights flicker. The battery seems weak. Could a bad battery cause all this? I checked the battery terminal, and it looks clean. Any ideas?

I had a similar issue with my 607. Same symptoms. Have you checked the voltage regulator?

Thanks. I haven't checked the voltage regulator. Where is it, and how do I test it?

I didn't check it myself. I took it to a shop, and they fixed it. I'd recommend doing the same.

Taking it to a shop was the right move. The battery was heavily discharged and defective. Replacing it fixed everything. Final cost was 290€.
