Peugeot 607 Uneven Idling

I've got a 2001 Peugeot 607 with a diesel engine, and it's giving me some grief. Lately, I've noticed a bit of uneven idling, especially when it's cold. I hooked it up to a diagnostics tool, and it threw up an error pointing towards a defective engine mount. I've had a quick look and the cable or plug connection looks a bit suspect. Anyone else had this issue with their 607?

Indeed, a stored error coupled with uneven idling on a Peugeot 607, particularly one of that vintage, does suggest a potential issue with the engine mount. Before proceeding further, could you elaborate on the specific error code retrieved from the diagnostics tool? Furthermore, have you observed any unusual vibrations, especially during acceleration or deceleration?

The error code was P0520, which seems to confirm the engine mount issue. As for vibrations, yes, I've definitely noticed increased vibrations throughout the car, more noticeable at lower RPMs. Is it possible to diagnose this without replacing parts? I don't really want to start swapping parts unless I'm sure.

Error code P0520 in conjunction with the reported symptoms strongly indicates a defective engine mount, possibly exacerbated by a compromised cable or plug connection. Given the mileage of your vehicle (198045 km), the rubber mount has likely degraded over time. While a visual inspection may offer further clues, accurate diagnosis and subsequent rectification will necessitate a visit to a qualified workshop. The cost will be around 95€.

Thanks for confirming my suspicions. I'll get it booked in at the garage, hopefully, a new engine mount and a bit of electrical TLC will sort it. The guys at the garage replaced the engine mount and cleaned up the connector as you suggested, now idling is as smooth as silk. I really appreciate the help!
