Peugeot 806 ABS Fault

The speedometer appears to be functioning normally, and I haven't observed any irregularities with other dashboard indicators. The issue seems to manifest irrespective of weather conditions, and it doesn't appear to be specifically tied to acceleration or deceleration. The intermittent nature of the problem is particularly vexing. I am not sure if this is related to the sensor alone; but potentially another defective part.

That is indeed similar to what I experienced. Given that the speedometer is working correctly, it possibly rules out the sensor being completely faulty; however, the intermittent nature coupled with traction and ABS faults does point towards a potential control unit issue. In my case, further diagnosis at a workshop confirmed that the ABS control unit was indeed defective. I'd strongly suggest taking it to a qualified mechanic for a thorough inspection. If you have warranty, now is the time to use it.

Following your advice, I had the vehicle inspected at a reputable workshop. Their assessment corroborates the suspicion of a defective control unit. The estimated repair cost amounts to approximately 1000€ – a rather unwelcome expense. It’s a sad day when such things happen, but I appreciate the guidance.

I own an 806 as well and had somewhat similar symptoms. When the ABS light came on, did you also notice any issues with the speedometer reading or any erratic behavior from other dashboard indicators? Was it always apparent or only under certain conditions, like wet weather or during acceleration/deceleration? Does it happen every time you use the car?
