Peugeot 806 Heating and ECU Error

Coolant level's fine. Engine temp is normal, no overheating whatsoever. Just rubbish heat inside. Why would a dodgy connection not throw a code? Seems perfectly plausible to me. Short circuit, open circuit – the ECU monitors that stuff, doesn't it?

Well, when you put it like that... Perhaps I was too quick to dismiss your initial thought. Given the age of the vehicle, corrosion could certainly be affecting the water valve's connector. Really, you would need to take it to a workshop to confirm your theory, it is dangerous to handle the cooling system without expertise.

Turns out I was right. Garage confirmed it: corroded connector on the water valve. 95€ later, and it's fixed. Thanks for confirming my suspicion!

A 2000 806, you say? Low heat output and an error code... Hmm. Have you checked the engine coolant level recently? Is the engine overheating at all, or just the heater not working properly? It seems odd that a simple connection issue would cause an error code...
