Peugeot 806 Idle Control Valve Issue

Hi, I have a 2001 Peugeot 806, gasoline engine, with 156422 km. Recently, the check engine light comes on and the engine stalls at idle. I scanned it and there's an error stored, pointing towards the idle air control valve. Anyone else had this?

Sounds familiar. Has the intake been cleaned recently? Dirty intakes can mess with the valve.

No, I haven't cleaned the intake. Is that likely the cause? Would a good clean fix it, or am I looking at replacing the valve?

Often a seriously contaminated intake is the root cause. Cleaning might help temporarily, but if the valve's already faulty, replacement is the long-term fix. I'd suggest taking it to a workshop.

Thanks for the advice. Took it to the workshop, and you were spot on. Intake was heavily contaminated, which ruined the valve. Ended up costing 425€ for the whole job.
