Peugeot 806 Overheating
Summary of the thread
A 2000 Peugeot 806 diesel is experiencing overheating issues, with the check engine light on. The suspected cause is a malfunctioning radiator fan. Upon inspection, the fan blade is clear, and no unusual noise is detected. A defective speed sensor is identified as the cause, preventing the fan from starting, and a mechanic confirms this diagnosis, leading to a repair.

I don't hear unusual fan noise, and the fan blade looks clear. I haven't checked the temperature control. Could that be related?

Yes, it could. My speed sensor was defective, which stopped the fan from starting. I'd suggest a workshop visit.

The mechanic confirmed the speed sensor was defective, causing the radiator fan to fail. The repair was 250€.

I had similar overheating issues with my 806. Do you hear any unusual fan noise, or is the fan blade obstructed? Has the temperature control been checked?
