Peugeot 806 parking aid issue

My 2001 Peugeot 806 diesel's parking aid is non-functional. The error memory shows codes related to a faulty component. I checked the ultrasonic sensors and wiring around the bumper, but nothing is obvious. I suspect a dodgy cable or plug connection. Has anyone experienced similar issues?

I had a similar parking sensor problem with my old Volvo V70. Check the wiring harness where it connects to the sensors. It's a common place for corrosion or damage.

Was the Volvo system sensitive to voltage drops or resistance in the wiring? I'm wondering if it's worth checking the continuity of each wire individually.

Yes, the Volvo system was pretty sensitive. The mechanic told me any slight disruption in the electrical circuit would deactivate the whole system. I would just take it to a workshop.

I took it to the shop as suggested. It was exactly as suspected - faulty wiring to one of the sensors. 95€ later, and the parking aid is back up and running!
