Peugeot 806 transmission fault

Hi, I'm having a head-scratcher with my 2000 Peugeot 806 2.0 HDI with 236296 km on the clock. I'm getting a radiator oil pressure defective error. The transmission indicator light comes on, as well as the check engine light. It's throwing the automatic transmission into emergency mode, so it's not shifting as it should. I'm also experiencing gearbox slippage/unclean shifts and some grinding noises when shifting. I've scanned it and there's definitely an error stored in the memory. I've checked the coolant level, which is fine. I'm thinking it might be related to a faulty sensor or something electrical, maybe a bad cable or plug connection. Anyone experienced something similar?

Sounds very familiar. I had a similar issue with my 806 a while back. Same symptoms – transmission light, limp mode, the works. Drove me nuts! Did you check the pressure sensor? It might be worth checking the wiring loom too.

Thanks for the quick reply! Which pressure sensor are you referring to exactly? And where is the wiring loom located that I should be checking?

Yeah, the one on the radiator. I'm pretty sure that's where the issue was. To be honest, I ended up taking it to a workshop because I was out of my depth. They sorted it out quickly and it wasn't too expensive. Might be worth considering if you're not comfortable digging too deep yourself.

Thanks for confirming, I appreciate the help. I did a bit more digging based on your suggestion and found a corroded connector on the pressure sensor. Cleaned it up, and the problem seems to be resolved! Error is gone and transmission is shifting smoothly again. Cost me just 95€ for a new plug. Cheers!
