Peugeot 807 automatic gearbox issues

It seemed to start gradually, without any obvious trigger like a long drive or cold weather. One day it was fine, the next, it was like the gearbox had a mind of its own! As for the specific error code, I'd have to check again, but from what I recall, it pointed towards a fault in the transmission control module. Did yours also point towards the control module being the culprit?

Sounds eerily similar to what I went through. Honestly, after all the messing about and checking, it did point straight back to the control unit. Get it checked out by a decent workshop. They'll be able to confirm it properly, but from the sounds of it, you're probably looking at a new or refurbished control module. Cost me around 1000€ all in, but it sorted the issue right out. Better than writing the car off, eh?

Thanks for sharing your experience! It's a relief to know I'm not alone, and your insights have been incredibly helpful. I'll book it into a reputable workshop and have them take a look at the control module. Hopefully, a replacement will do the trick. I appreciate you taking the time to share your wisdom!

Sounds like you're having a time! I had something similar happen with my 807. Gearbox acting strange, eh? Emergency mode is no fun. Paddle shifters not playing ball...yup, rings a bell. Did you notice any specific conditions when it started, like after a long drive or during cold weather? What kind of error code did you pull from the memory? Just curious to see if it matches what I was getting.
