Peugeot 807 Brake Booster Pressure Sensor Failure

I'm having a bother with my 2007 Peugeot 807 gasoline. It's got 117367 km on the clock. The error message in the speedometer keeps popping up, and the brake performance is shocking. Feels like I'm trying to stop a tank with a bicycle brake! Diagnostic tools say it's a brake booster pressure sensor failure. I suspect it might be related to a brake system bleed done incorrectly. Anyone seen this before?

Summary of the thread

The conversation centers around a 2007 Peugeot 807 experiencing poor brake performance and an error message indicating a brake booster pressure sensor failure. The issue is suspected to be linked to an incorrect brake system bleed, which may have introduced air into the system. The suggested solution is to have the brake system properly re-bled and the sensor replaced by a professional, which successfully resolved the problem.

Did this summary help you solve your problem?

That sounds awfully familiar. I had a similar issue with my 807. Same symptoms: error message, scary braking, and the error code. Did you recently mess with the brake system at all? Has the pedal feel gone soft or spongy?

A local garage did a full brake system bleed a few weeks back. The brake pedal does feel a bit softer than usual, almost like I have to push it further down to get any real stopping power. Is that what you experienced?

Definitely sounds like the same thing. The bleed probably introduced air into the system, messing with the brake booster pressure. Honestly, I tried a few things myself, but in the end, I had to bite the bullet and take it to a workshop with the proper diagnostic gear and brake bleeding equipment. They sorted it out pretty quickly. Don't risk your neck (or someone else's) trying to DIY a dodgy brake system!

Thanks for the advice! I booked it in with a local garage that specializes in Peugeots. Turns out it was exactly as you suspected: air in the system after the bleed messed up the brake booster pressure sensor. They re-bled the system correctly and replaced the sensor. Total cost was 90€. The brake performance is back to normal, and the error message is gone. Cheers!
