Peugeot 807 Clutch Pedal Switch Problems

I'm having a frustrating issue with my 2004 Peugeot 807 (gasoline engine, 133331 km on the clock). I suspect a bad clutch pedal switch. I'm getting an error stored in the memory, the gear selection isn't displaying on the speedometer, the cruise control is dead, and sometimes the engine won't even start. Could this be a faulty switch or a bad cable connection? My hunch is electrical, given all the symptoms.

Summary of the thread

The conversation revolves around a 2004 Peugeot 807 experiencing issues potentially linked to a faulty clutch pedal switch. Symptoms include an error code, lack of gear selection display, non-functional cruise control, and intermittent engine starting problems. The suspected causes are a faulty switch or bad cable connections. Suggested solutions include checking the wiring and plug connections for any loose or defective parts, with a recommendation to consult a professional for a thorough inspection.

I had similar issues with my 807. If the error code is pointing to the clutch switch, definitely start there. Before replacing anything, check the wiring and the plug connection to the switch itself. Give them a wiggle and see if anything changes. Think of it like a loose lightbulb – sometimes just a small movement fixes it.

Thanks for the quick response! When you had this issue, did you also experience the engine not starting at all sometimes? And do you remember which error code it was? I'm just trying to confirm it's the same gremlin I'm chasing.

Yes, the engine starting issue was intermittent but definitely present. I don't recall the exact error code unfortunately. To be safe, I would take it to a workshop. They quoted me 95€ for checking the cables and the plug.

Thanks, that confirms my suspicions! I'll take it to a shop. I was hoping it was something simple, but it sounds like it's best left to the pros. Seems like this is a common Peugeot 807 problem. It costed me 95€ but the cables and plugs were defective.
