Peugeot 807 keyless access failure

Alright, mechanics! My 2003 Peugeot 807 (gasoline engine) is giving me grief. The keyless access has completely stopped working. I scanned it, and there's an error stored, pointing to the door handle electronics. I suspect it's a dodgy cable or plug connection. Anyone else had this happen?

Summary of the thread

A 2003 Peugeot 807 experienced a complete failure of the keyless access system, with an error indicating an issue with the door handle electronics. The problem was suspected to be a faulty cable or plug connection. After checking the wiring and plugs without finding an obvious issue, a visit to the workshop confirmed the problem was a faulty door actuator cable, which was then repaired.

Did this summary help you solve your problem?

Sounds familiar. I've got a Peugeot 807 as well, and something similar happened to mine last year. The door actuator, which is the electric motor and mechanism that locks and unlocks the door, went haywire. Was driving me nuts!

Interesting! So, it was the door actuator itself? Did you experience the exact same symptoms – keyless entry kaput and an error code? How did you pinpoint the actuator as the culprit and not just some random wiring issue?

Well, in my case, the central locking stopped responding intermittently first, and then completely failed. The error code pointed to a problem with the door electronics. Because of the intermittent nature and the fact that all doors were affected I initially suspected the Body Control Module (BCM), but after checking the fuses and wiring to each door, the mechanic concluded it was the door actuator. Since your keyless entry is out completely and you have a stored error, I would suggest checking the plug and wiring. It could be a corroded connection, but if not, you may need to visit a workshop.

Thanks for the input! I took your advice and checked the plug and wiring - nothing obvious. Bit the bullet and took it to the shop. Turns out it WAS a faulty door actuator cable. Cost me 95€ to get it sorted. Appreciate the help!
