Peugeot 807 Oil Level Sensor Fault

I'm tearing my hair out. My 2005 Peugeot 807 diesel's oil level sensor is throwing an error, logged in the system. The oil pressure light sometimes flickers! Oil level is fine. I suspect a dodgy cable or connection, but where do I start?

I had a similar issue with my 807. Was it intermittent? For me, it turned out to be a bad connection. Check the sensor plug isn't corroded or loose before going too deep.

Intermittent is the word! Do you reckon just cleaning the sensor plug might do the trick? Did you have the oil pressure light come on too, or just the oil level warning?

Just the oil level warning for me, but start with the plug. If that doesn't sort it, honestly, it's probably best to take it to a workshop. They'll have the proper diagnostic tools to pinpoint the problem.

I wiggled the connector and it seemed to help briefly, but then the error came back. I booked it into a local garage, and they confirmed it was a faulty sensor. 95€ later and I'm back in business!
