Peugeot 807 oil pressure issue
Summary of the thread
A 2005 Peugeot 807 diesel is experiencing an intermittent oil pressure warning and loud mechanical noises from the engine. Despite checking the oil level and replacing the oil pressure sensor, the issue persists. The problem is suspected to be related to oil supply, potentially due to a clogged oil filter or a failing oil pump. After inspection, it was confirmed that the oil pump needs replacement to prevent serious engine damage.

The noise does indeed seem to correlate with the engine's RPM, increasing in intensity as the engine speed increases. I have not yet inspected the oil filter, though this is a good idea.

Right, so if the noise gets worse with revs, it does sound like an oil supply issue. When mine did that, it turned out to be the oil pump failing. I'd definitely get it checked by a workshop before running it too much, because those symptoms point towards potentially serious engine damage if left unchecked.

I have since had it inspected, and the oil pump requires replacement. The repair will cost 755€. Thank you.

I've got an 807 too. Had something similar happen a while back. Does the noise change with the engine speed, and have you checked if the oil filter might be clogged? It's a simple thing, but worth a look.
