Peugeot 807 Overheating Air Flap Fault

Peugeot 807 2008 diesel, check engine light and overheating. Diagnostic scan says fault in active air flap. At 161276 km, could the electromechanism be failing? Feels like the car is suffocating!

Hey! Similar thing happened with my 807 diesel. Was it affecting your air intake or cooling system? Mine was doing crazy things, almost like the flap motor was having a rave in the engine bay. What codes are you pulling from the diagnostic?

The scan implicates the air intake, and the cooling system is affected too. The fault code points to a defective flap motor. What 'crazy things' was your 807 doing? Trying to see if our symptoms align before I pay for repairs.

The 'crazy things' were mostly the engine light popping on and off, and the engine running rough sometimes, like it couldn't decide if it wanted to be cold or hot. But yeah, a faulty flap motor sounds spot on. I’d say get it looked at by a workshop to be sure - better safe than sorry!

Thanks for the advice! I went to a workshop. They said it was a defective electromechanism within the active air flap assembly, like we thought. The repair was 590€. The Peugeot runs again!
