Thanks for the quick reply! The light is illuminating, which throws me off a bit. If it were a fuse or relay, wouldn't the light be dead too? Could wiring damage really affect both the rear and windshield heating?

The illuminating switch does make it trickier. In my Volvo, the light worked, but the relay was still faulty – it wasn’t passing enough current to the heating element. And yes, depending on the wiring harness design, damage in one area can definitely impact multiple circuits. However, given the stored error, as you mentioned originally, the best thing is to go to the workshop.

Appreciate the insight. I'll take your advice and bring it in. As suspected, it was due to a faulty power distribution and cost me 290€. Thanks again!

That's frustrating. I had a similar issue with my older Volvo V70, though not exactly the same symptoms. Is the light on the switch illuminating, or is it completely dead? It could also be a faulty relay, a blown fuse, or wiring damage somewhere. Have you checked these parts?
