Peugeot 807 rough idle IAC valve issue

My 2006 Peugeot 807 (gasoline engine, 130883 km) is experiencing some rough idling. The check engine light is on, and the error memory indicates a problem with the idle air control system. Sometimes the engine even stalls at idle. I suspect the intake is heavily contaminated, any ideas?

I had a similar issue with my 807. The symptoms sound very familiar. Have you checked the IAC valve itself? It might be worth a look to see if it's just gummed up.

Thanks for the quick response. I haven't had a chance to look at the IAC valve yet. Was your issue resolved by cleaning it, or did you have to replace it?

In my case, cleaning wasn't enough, I am afraid. I had to replace the valve and get the intake manifold cleaned professionally. I would recommend visiting a workshop.

Took your advice and brought it to the shop. Turns out the IAC valve was indeed faulty and the intake was quite dirty. Total cost: 425€ Thanks for pointing me in the right direction!
