Peugeot 807 Stalling Idle
Summary of the thread
A 2003 Peugeot 807 is experiencing stalling at idle and an illuminated check engine light, suspected to be related to the tank ventilation valve and EVAP system. The issue may involve a clogged hose or a defective purge valve. A similar case was resolved by replacing the faulty tank ventilation valve and cleaning clogged hoses, which fixed the stalling and check engine light problems. It is recommended to consult a professional mechanic for accurate diagnosis and repair.

Thank you for your reply! I did not notice any hissing sound. How did you eventually solve this issue? I fear it might be costly due to the emission system potentially affected.

Well, after struggling for a while, I decided to take it to a trusted mechanic. He diagnosed it as a faulty tank ventilation valve and some clogged hoses in the EVAP system. Replacing the valve and cleaning the hoses solved the stalling and the check engine light. Honestly, save yourself the headache and get it checked by a professional. These emission-related problems can sometimes be tricky to diagnose without proper tools and experience.

Thank you very much for your detailed explanation. I followed your advice and took the car to the workshop. Indeed, the tank ventilation valve was faulty and the hoses clogged. Replaced everything for 175€. Now everything is working perfectly! Thank you again for your help!

Hello! I know what you're talking about. I have a 807 too and I've been dealing with the same problem: check engine, rough idle... After long research, I finally found a mechanic able to fix it. Did you check for any hissing sounds coming from the fuel tank? Is the fuel cap sealing correctly? Perhaps the purge valve is stuck or defective?
