Peugeot 807 temperature sensor issues

I'm tearing my hair out! I've got a 2002 Peugeot 807 with a gasoline engine that's throwing a fit. The outside temperature sensor seems to have gone bonkers. I keep getting an error code, and the air conditioning refuses to kick on. Even weirder, the spray nozzles froze solid last winter, and the mirrors won't heat up at all! Could all of this really be tied to one sensor? Anyone seen anything like this before?

Sounds like a classic case of sensor malfunction! Is the ambient temperature reading on your dash display completely off? Like, showing -40 when it's clearly summer? If so, yeah, that little sensor can wreak havoc. Have you checked the wiring and the plug connection to the sensor? Could be a loose or corroded connection.

Good call! Where exactly is that sensor hiding on the 807? I've poked around a bit, but I can't seem to locate the darn thing. And what am I looking for in terms of wiring issues? Should I be looking for frayed wires or just giving the connector a good wiggle?

Usually, it's behind the front bumper, often near the fog light. Yeah, wiggle the connector first to see if it changes anything. If that doesn't work, inspect the wires for any breaks or corrosion. Honestly, though, with all those symptoms, it's probably the sensor itself. You might want to consider taking it to a workshop to get it checked out. They have the tools to properly diagnose it.

Thanks a bunch for the tips! Turns out you were spot-on. Took it to the shop, and they confirmed it was the sensor and a dodgy connection. New sensor and a bit of wiring repair later, everything's working perfectly again! Cost me about 95€, which isn't too bad, all things considered. AC is blasting cold air!
