Thanks! I haven't checked the voltage while starting, only when it's off. What kind of voltage drop would be considered significant? If the voltage drop is bad, what should I check next?

A drop below 10V while starting is usually a red flag. I would recommend having the charging system professionally tested. It's possible the alternator isn't properly charging the battery, or there's an excessive drain somewhere. Taking it to a workshop is probably the best course of action.

Took it to a shop as you suggested. The battery was indeed heavily discharged and defective! A new battery and charging system check later, and everything's working perfectly. Total cost was 290€ Thanks a lot for your help!

I had similar issues with my Peugeot Bipper. These symptoms sound like a battery voltage issue. Have you checked the voltage across the battery terminals when the engine is off, and then again while starting? A significant voltage drop during starting can indicate a failing battery or a problem with the charging system.
