Peugeot Bipper Smartphone Pairing Issue

Hi, I've got a 2011 Peugeot Bipper diesel with 101043 km. I can't connect my smartphone to the car's system, and there's an error stored. I've checked Bluetooth and compatibility, but no luck. Any ideas?

I see. You mentioned an error in memory. Have you tried reading the error code using an OBD2 scanner? Knowing the exact code could help narrow down the issue significantly, as it could point towards a specific module malfunction or communication error, perhaps even within the fuel system.

Thanks. I haven't checked the error code with a scanner yet. Where do I plug it in, and where can I find info about the code? Also, what kind of malfunction could cause this? I wouldn't think it's fuel system related.

The OBD2 port is usually under the dashboard, near the steering column. The error code will be displayed on the scanner screen once you connect and run a diagnostic scan. While it seems unrelated, modern car systems are heavily integrated. A voltage drop or a faulty sensor in a completely different system, for example in the transmission, can trigger cascading errors that affect seemingly unrelated functions. However, given the symptoms, a trip to the workshop might be wisest.

Thanks for the help. I went to a workshop, and it was an incorrect smartphone pairing. They reset it and paired my phone correctly for 45€. Everything's working now.
