Peugeot Boxer engine stalls after fuel filter change

Hi, I have a 2004 Peugeot Boxer with a gasoline engine. The check engine light is on, and the engine stalls at idle. Sometimes it also feels like I have less power. I recently changed the fuel filter and now I get those issues. Could this be related?

Hey, that sounds familiar! I had similar issues with my old Opel Astra after messing with the fuel system. The check engine light was on, rough idling, and all that jazz. Have you checked the fuel pressure regulator or fuel pump? Maybe a faulty pressure sensor is messing things up. Did you ensure proper installation of the fuel filter?

Fuel pressure regulator, huh? I haven't checked that specifically. Where is that located, and how would I test it? Could it be something as simple as a loose connection after changing the filter? I also thought about the fuel pump.

Well, on my Astra, the fuel pressure regulator was near the fuel rail. Honestly, testing it was a pain, and I ended up taking it to a workshop. They diagnosed it pretty quickly. It could be a loose connection, sure, but those symptoms sound like a regulator issue to me. Save yourself the headache and get it checked out by a pro. It's the most effective way, trust me. Better than chasing ghosts in the fuel system.

Thanks for the advice. I took it to a workshop, and you were right – it was the fuel pressure regulator! They replaced it, and the engine runs fine now. The error entry was likely triggered after I changed the fuel filter. The repair cost me 45€.
