Peugeot Boxer Poor Starting Reduced Power
Summary of the thread
A 2019 Peugeot Boxer with a diesel engine is experiencing poor starting and reduced power, with an error indicating a potential issue with the camshaft sensor cable or plug. The problem could be due to a defective camshaft sensor connection, but it's also suggested to check the crankshaft sensor as similar symptoms can arise from its failure. The issue was confirmed to be the camshaft sensor, and the repair was successfully completed at a workshop for 95€.

Thanks for the reply. I haven't checked the crankshaft sensor yet. Do you recommend checking both sensors?

Yes, check both sensors. In my case, the issue was indeed the camshaft sensor, but it's worth ruling out the crankshaft sensor, too. If the wiring looks suspect and you are getting sensor errors, it is likely the cause. I would suggest visiting a workshop; 95€ is a reasonable price.

Thank you very much for the advice. It was indeed the camshaft sensor, with a defective connection, as suspected. The repair cost exactly 95€ at the workshop. Your insights were very helpful!

I had a similar issue with my Boxer. Sounds very familiar. Did you check the crankshaft sensor as well? Sometimes a failing crankshaft sensor can cause similar issues that might appear as camshaft sensor problems.
