Peugeot Boxer power loss whistling noise

I've got a 2010 Peugeot Boxer diesel with a check engine light and major power loss. Engine response is terrible, and there's a crazy whistling noise when I accelerate – sounds like a tea kettle! Sometimes it stalls at idle, and my fuel consumption is through the roof! I'm at 152983 km. Thinking it might be the boost pressure actuator or a defective electrical bypass valve? Anyone else had similar issues?

Whistling, power loss...sounds familiar. I had something similar with my Boxer. Does it also sound like a loud hissing when accelerating?

Yeah, loud hissing when accelerating is spot on! What was it in your case then?

Could be a boost leak somewhere in the turbo system. Mine was the boost pressure actuator. If it’s electrical like you suspect, you'll probably need to take it to a workshop, it's tricky to diagnose without the right tools. Saved me a lot of headaches in the end!

Appreciate the advice. Took it to the workshop like you said. Turns out it was indeed the boost pressure actuator! New one fitted, cost me about 250€, and she's running like a dream again. Thanks!
