Peugeot Boxer Rain Light Sensor Fault

Hi, I have a 2016 Peugeot Boxer with a diesel engine and 293261 km on the clock. I'm experiencing a rain-light sensor fault. The error is stored in the memory, there's no automatic wiping in the rain, no automatic headlight control, and the speedometer dimming isn't working. Also, the lights switch on. Anyone else had this?

Hey, I've got a Boxer too, though I can't remember the exact year. Those symptoms sound awfully familiar. Does it happen to be the bubbles forming under the gel pad of the windshield?

Bubbles under the gel pad? I haven't specifically looked for that. Where exactly should I be checking?

Yes, exactly. The bubbles distort the sensor's readings. It's worth inspecting closely before anything else. I think that going to the workshop is the right option for you.

Thanks for the tip! Turns out you were spot on. Small bubbles had formed under the gel pad. I had it repaired for 62€ and now everything is working as expected again.
