Peugeot Boxer rough running

Hey, my 2005 Peugeot Boxer with a gasoline engine is giving me headaches. The engine's running really rough, like it's skipping a beat. The check engine light keeps popping on, and the error memory has codes stored. Plus, it's jerking like crazy when I try to accelerate. I'm no mechanic, but could it be something like the crankshaft or oxygen sensor? Mileage is only 24719 km. Any ideas?

I had a similar issue with my Boxer. Uneven running and a check engine light. Did you check for any hissing sounds from the exhaust? It could be a leak.

A leak in the exhaust? Hmm, I haven't specifically listened for that. Where should I be checking exactly, and how would that cause the jerking?

Yeah, a leak can mess with the engine's air-fuel mixture, causing it to run rough and trigger the light. Honestly, best bet is to get it on a lift and have a mechanic inspect the exhaust system thoroughly. It's tough to pinpoint exactly without seeing it first.

Okay, thanks for the tip! I took it to a workshop, and you were spot on – turns out there was a leak in the exhaust system! Repair ended up costing 265€. Runs like new now!
