Thanks for the quick reply! No bumps or impacts that I'm aware of. It comes on almost immediately after starting the engine. What exactly was the problem in your case? And how did you fix it?

Okay, mine was similar – the error popped up right away. It turned out to be a faulty acceleration sensor. Apparently, it's responsible for detecting a collision and triggering the active hood. Honestly, I wouldn't mess with it too much yourself, as it is related to safety systems. I'd recommend getting it checked out by a workshop with the proper diagnostic tools. In the end, mine cost around 300€ including parts and labor.

Thanks a lot for the info! That's exactly what I needed to know. I'll book it in with a local garage and mention the acceleration sensor. Hopefully, that will sort it out. I appreciate you sharing your experience; it's saved me a lot of time and stress! Just got it back from the garage. It was indeed the acceleration sensor, and the final bill came to 315€. All sorted now!

Hey, I had something similar on my Expert. That "Active hood fault" message is a pain! It also messed with some other safety features. Did this happen after any bump or impact, even a small one? I'm thinking about the pedestrian safety system; I read somewhere it can be very sensitive. Does the error appear immediately when you start the car, or only after driving a bit?
