Peugeot Expert Alarm Malfunction

I'm getting seriously annoyed with my 2008 Peugeot Expert diesel. The anti-theft alarm system is malfunctioning. I'm getting an error stored in the memory and the alarm's just flat-out not working. I'm only at 37785 km here, I wouldn't have expected such issues. Anyone else run into this? Any ideas before I start tearing into it?

I had something similar happen on my Peugeot Expert. Was your alarm going off randomly, or just completely dead? I remember thinking the immobilizer was fried, or maybe it was a battery issue since it seems to drain quickly. What about power failure? I'd check your alarm sensor.

Completely dead, no random alarms or anything. You had the same thing happen with an Expert? Did you ever figure out if it was the immobilizer, battery or the alarm sensor itself?

Yeah, completely dead alarm. I never messed with it myself because I lack the know-how. But from what I remember, I took it to a workshop and it was the alarm system coded to activate optical locking (indicators). They fixed it quickly, but cost me 45€.

Okay, that's good information, thank you! Seems like a trip to the shop is in order, then. Hopefully it's just a recoding thing like you said!
