Peugeot Expert check engine light and power loss
Summary of the thread
A 2021 Peugeot Expert diesel with 14,738 km is experiencing a check engine light, stalling at idle, and power loss. The issue may be linked to a defective fuel volume regulator, potentially caused by a failing high pressure pump. It is advised to conduct a thorough diagnosis at a workshop to confirm the root cause and address the problem effectively.

Thanks for the quick reply! I did scan it, and it points to a defective fuel volume regulator. You really think the high pressure pump could be the problem? How did you figure it out on your Expert?

Well, the fuel volume regulator rarely fails on its own. Usually it's collateral damage from the high pressure pump failing and sending debris through the fuel system. In my case, the pump was the culprit. I strongly suggest a thorough diagnosis at a workshop. Cost me around 1510€ to get it sorted.

Appreciate the insight! I'll take it to the shop and mention the high pressure pump. Thanks again for sharing your experience!

Sounds familiar. I had a similar issue with my Expert, also a diesel. Check engine light, rough idle, and definitely noticed a power loss, especially uphill. I'd suspect the fuel volume regulator. If the high pressure pump is defective, it might be the root cause. Have you scanned for any error codes?
