Peugeot Expert Coolant Loss

I have a 2013 Peugeot Expert with a diesel engine and the coolant level is consistently low. The check engine light is on, and there's an error code related to the coolant. Could there be air pockets, or a coolant leak? I'm worried about engine overheating and a compromised head gasket.

I have a Peugeot Expert too. Sounds familiar. I had a similar issue with coolant disappearing. I checked all the hoses, couldn't find anything obvious. Do you notice any sweet smell, especially after the engine has warmed up? Also, have you checked the oil to see if it looks milky? A milky residue could indicate coolant mixing with the oil, which is not a good sign at all!

Thanks, I appreciate it. I haven't detected any distinct sweet smell. I will check more carefully. I haven't seen any milky residue in the oil. Given that you experienced a similar issue, how did you resolve it? Did you find the coolant loss?

In my case, after checking everything myself and finding nothing, I took it to a workshop. They pressure tested the system and found a very small leak in the radiator. It was so small, it was evaporating before I could see it on the ground. They replaced the radiator, and I haven't had an issue since. It is quite difficult to find these tiny leaks yourself.

Thanks for the guidance. A workshop visit seems right. A tiny leak is plausible. I'll arrange a pressure test soon. I ended up taking my car to the workshop. The mechanic found a small leak on a water pump. The total repair cost me 52€. I will check the coolant level from now on. Thanks again.
