Peugeot Expert exhaust treatment malfunction

Hi, I have a 2008 Peugeot Expert with a gasoline engine and I'm experiencing an exhaust treatment malfunction. The check engine light is on, the engine runs rough, there's an exhaust leak, and a strong exhaust smell. Any ideas?

Hey, I had a similar issue with my Expert. It sounds like it could be the lambda sensor. Did you notice if the fuel consumption increased?

Okay, lambda sensor issues don't always affect fuel consumption right away. But with those symptoms, I'd bet that it's broken. I would advise you to get your motor checked out by a workshop for faulty sensors, they should be able to get a better diagnostic than just guessing like I'm doing.

Thanks a lot! It turned out to be the lambda sensor, just like you guessed. Got it fixed for 375€. Runs like new again.
