Peugeot Expert Fuel Pump Error
Summary of the thread
A 2003 Peugeot Expert with a gasoline engine was experiencing starting issues, rough idling, an illuminated check engine light, and increased fuel consumption. A diagnostic code indicated a fuel pump error, leading to concerns about potential wiring issues. Suggestions included checking the fuel pump relay, fuse, and fuel injectors. Ultimately, the problem was identified as a defective plug connection to the fuel pump, which was resolved by replacing the plug and wiring, restoring the vehicle's performance.

I checked the fuse, and it looks okay. Where is the fuel pump relay located, and how can I test it? Also, is there a DIY test for the fuel injectors, or should I go to a professional?

The relay should be in the engine compartment fuse box; check your manual for the exact position. Testing is best done with a multimeter, checking for continuity and voltage. Unless you have experience and the right tools, I'd recommend taking it to a workshop for the injectors. It sounds like you might have a bad cable or plug connection; you might want to seek professional help.

I took it to a local garage. It was a defective plug connection to the fuel pump, just as you suspected! They replaced the plug and wiring for 95€. The van is now running smoothly. Your guidance saved me time and money. I'm grateful!

I had a similar problem with my Peugeot Expert. Those symptoms sound familiar. Have you checked the fuel pump relay and fuse? A faulty connection could cause those issues. Also, have you had the fuel injectors checked?
