Peugeot Expert mass air flow meter issue

My 2015 Peugeot Expert diesel is giving me fits. It's done 262699 km. Lately, the fuel consumption has gone way up, and the engine sometimes stalls when I'm idling. Plus, the check engine light is on, and it's blowing out smoke when I accelerate. Could this be the mass air flow meter? I've checked the air filter, and it seems okay. Any ideas?

Sounds familiar. I've got an Expert too and had similar problems a while back. Higher fuel consumption and the engine stalling were the first signs. Have you noticed any difference in how the engine is running in general?

Yeah, the engine feels a bit sluggish, especially when I'm trying to accelerate. Did changing the mass air flow meter fix your problem completely, or was there something else?

That sounds exactly like what I experienced. Replacing the mass air flow sensor sorted it out. I'd suggest taking it to a workshop to get it checked properly before throwing parts at it, though. Could be other things, but LMM is a strong possibility.

Thanks a bunch for the advice! I took it to the garage, and you were spot on – it was the mass air flow meter. Cost me 365€ to get it sorted, but it's running like a champ again now!
