Peugeot Expert Overheating
Summary of the thread
A 2013 Peugeot Expert with a gasoline engine is experiencing a check engine light and overheating issues. The problem is suspected to be related to the active air flap, as indicated by a fault code from diagnostics. The solution involves addressing the electromechanism of the active air flap, which was confirmed and repaired at a workshop, resolving the overheating issue.

The coolant level seems fine, and the fan appears to be working. But an active air flap fault code came up when I ran diagnostics. Could the electromechanism be causing this overheating issue? Has anyone dealt with the air intake system before?

If you're getting a specific fault code for the air flap, that sounds like a likely cause. My Astra didn't throw any codes like that. If it's the flap motor, take it to a workshop to get properly diagnosed. They can pinpoint the exact issue and give you a quote. Don't risk further damage!

I took it to the workshop, and you were right – it was the electromechanism of the active air flap. The repair cost 590€, but my Peugeot is back on the road. Thanks for your help!

I had something similar with my old Opel Astra. Check engine light and overheating sounds familiar. In my case, it was a faulty thermostat that stopped the cooling fan from working. Is your fan working properly? Check the coolant level, just in case.
