Peugeot Expert Power Window Failure
Summary of the thread
After replacing the battery in a 2011 Peugeot Expert, the power windows stopped functioning, and an error code related to window regulator initialization appeared. The issue likely stems from the system losing memory of the window positions due to the battery change. Suggested solutions include checking fuses and potentially using a Peugeot diagnostic tool to reset the system. Ultimately, a visit to a garage for a full system reset resolved the problem.

Thanks for the quick reply! I did check the fuses; they seem fine. The error code is pretty generic, just says 'window regulator initialization unsuccessful'. It affects both front windows. Is it really the same problem, even if you didn't change the battery?

Okay, a generic error on both windows after a battery change definitely points to the initialization being the core issue, even if my initial problem had a different root cause. It sounds like the system might have lost its memory of the window positions. Sadly, I never got it solved by myself. In the end I had to bring it to a workshop, and they had to reset it with the Peugeot diagnostic tool. You might be able to find someone with that tool, otherwise you're likely looking at a visit to a garage.

Thanks for the confirmation and advice! I suspected it might need a specialized tool. Took it to a local garage; they diagnosed it as needing a full system reset after the battery change. Cost me 290€, but at least the windows are working again. Appreciate the help!

Interesting issue! I had something similar happen with my Expert – though it wasn't immediately after a battery change. Have you tried any basic troubleshooting steps, like checking the fuses related to the power windows? Also, does the error code give any specific details? Maybe related to a specific window, or the window switch?
