Peugeot Expert Rain Light Sensor Fault

My 2016 Peugeot Expert electric is throwing a rain-light sensor fault at 189261km. Symptoms are: error stored, no auto wiping, no auto headlight control, no speedometer dimming function and lights switch on. I suspect bubbles under the gel pad on the windshield. Any ideas?

That sounds like a sensor issue. I've heard of similar problems with other vehicles. Does the light sensor also control the automatic headlights? It sounds like multiple systems are affected.

Yeah, the light sensor handles the auto headlights too. Do you think it's definitely the sensor itself, or could it be a wiring issue affecting everything?

Given the symptoms, and that it all started happening around the same time, it does sound like the sensor, especially with your suspicion of gel pad bubbles. A wiring fault is possible, but less likely affecting all those systems. I'd recommend a workshop visit to confirm the diagnosis.

Thanks. Turns out the bubbles were the culprit. A new sensor and gel pad cost 62€ at the shop and fixed the issue.
