Peugeot iOn AC Undervoltage Failsafe

I haven't checked the refrigerant levels myself, as I don't have the equipment, but I also haven't noticed any obvious signs of a leak. The compressor seems completely dead; there's no attempt to start at all. Could the undervoltage error be triggering a failsafe to prevent the compressor from even trying?

Okay, completely dead compressor and an undervoltage error definitely points towards the electrical side being the culprit. It's possible the undervoltage is causing a failsafe, like you said. Honestly, tracing electrical gremlins can be a pain, especially with the complexities of an electric vehicle. My advice? Take it to a workshop with experience in electric vehicles and HVAC systems. They'll be able to properly diagnose the undervoltage issue and see if it's directly related to the A/C compressor shutting down. Could save you a lot of time and potential headaches!

I took it to a workshop specializing in electric vehicles, and you were right. It was an undervoltage issue causing the A/C compressor to shut off as a failsafe. They fixed the underlying electrical problem, and the A/C is working perfectly again. Total repair cost was 240€. Your suggestion to take it to a specialist saved me a lot of time and effort!

Strange one. With electric cars, things can get a bit weird sometimes. I had a similar problem once on an older car, though not electric. Turned out the HVAC system had a leak that was causing the compressor to shut off to protect itself. Have you checked the refrigerant levels, or had a look for any obvious signs of a leak around the compressor or lines? It might be something simple before diving into belt tensioner issues. Is the compressor even trying to kick on, or is it completely dead?
