Peugeot iOn Engine Start Problem
Summary of the thread
A 2010 Peugeot iOn electric vehicle with 205169 km is experiencing an engine start problem, where the engine starts briefly and then stops, with an error stored in the memory. The issue may be related to incorrect key programming, affecting the immobilizer system. The suggested solution is to have the key reprogrammed at a workshop, which resolved the problem and allowed the car to start without issues.

Thank you for the quick response. How can I check the key signal myself? I am not very experienced with this.

Without proper equipment, checking the key signal directly is difficult. Given your symptoms and the error memory, it's highly probable the key needs reprogramming. I'd suggest visiting a workshop with key programming capabilities. It could resolve your remote start issues.

Understood. Thank you for the advice. I visited a local workshop, and they reprogrammed the key. The repair cost was 45€ and the car now starts without issue. I appreciate the help.

I also have a Peugeot iOn. I had very similar symptoms related to the immobilizer. Have you checked the key signal? It's like a handshake between the key and the car's anti-theft system; if that handshake fails, the car won't start.
