Peugeot iOn radio reception problems

Help! My 2013 Peugeot iOn (electric engine) is driving me nuts. The radio reception is terrible. I keep getting an error message in the infotainment system, and sometimes the whole audio system just quits. It's also throwing an error code, which I had read out. Mileage is at 77349 km. Could it be the antenna?

Sounds frustrating! The antenna is a common culprit for radio issues, especially with those symptoms. An antenna booster might help, but first, have you checked the antenna connection? Sometimes it just gets loose or corroded. Also, is it only FM signal that's affected, or DAB too, if your iOn has it?

Thanks! I haven't checked the connection myself, where exactly is it located in the iOn? And good point about DAB, I hadn't thought of that, I'll check if that is also affected, but how could that tell me more?

The antenna connection is usually behind the radio unit itself, or at the base of the antenna on the roof. If DAB is also affected, it pretty much confirms it's the antenna or its connection, as both use it. If only FM is bad, then it could be the radio unit itself, but that's less likely. With the error codes too, and given the age, it's probably best to have a workshop take a look. Could be a defective antenna booster as well, and they can test that properly.

Thanks! DAB is indeed also affected. Took your advice and went to the shop, they confirmed the antenna was defective. Cost me 255€ including installation. Radio's working perfectly again now!
