Peugeot iOn Tire Pressure ABS and Steering Issues

Interesting! So, if it's a faulty tire pressure sensor, would that really cause the steering to feel heavy and the ABS light to come on? I thought those were completely separate systems. Also, how do I even check the sensors? Is that something I can do myself, or do I need special equipment? I don't have any inflated tires lying around.

Yes, a faulty tire pressure sensor can cause those issues, indirectly. The car's computer uses data from various sensors to optimize performance and safety systems. A faulty signal from a tire pressure sensor can confuse the system, potentially affecting the power steering and ABS. As for checking the sensors, you'd need a diagnostic tool that can read the data from each sensor individually. It's probably best to take it to a workshop; they can quickly diagnose which sensor is faulty and replace it. They'll also check for any punctures.

Thanks a bunch for the info! I took it to a local garage as you suggested and it turned out to be a defective valve in one of the tires. They replaced the valve and the tire sensor, and that solved all the problems. Cost me about 280€, but at least it's sorted! Cheers!

Hi there! I drive a Peugeot iOn too, and I had a similar issue a while back. The tire pressure warning light, ABS light, and steering issues could definitely be related. It sounds like a potential problem with one of your tire pressure sensors. Each tire has a sensor (tire monitoring) that communicates the pressure to the car's computer. If one of those sensors fails, it can throw off the whole system and trigger those other warning lights. Sometimes the valve in tire is defective. Has anyone checked yours?
